About The Release
Over the years, Harold Brown has created many songs that were never formally recorded or released. It’s Okay (Ray Mix) grew from Ray Brown’s desire to bring one of those compositions forward using the creative tools now available while preserving the feel, rhythm, and musical language at the heart of his father’s work.
Harold wrote every lyric, created the music, and gave the original performance, playing every instrument himself. The words, the musical foundation, and the performance are entirely his. For this new version, Ray added selected elements to help an authentic song come alive, using arrangement choices and AI-assisted production without changing its essence, what the song is about, or the feeling Harold conveyed in the original recording. Having grown up with his father’s drumming and played alongside him, Ray approached the production from a uniquely personal place, working to preserve the pulse and character that make Harold Brown’s music unmistakably his own.
